Aster · About the site
Cookies and storage
Aster doesn’t set cookies of its own. It only keeps your preferences in your own browser.
Does Aster use cookies?
No. Aster sets no cookies of its own: no analytics cookies and no advertising cookies.
Local storage
Instead of cookies, Aster uses your browser’s local storage (localStorage). Unlike cookies, this data isn’t sent to the server with each visit: it stays on your device and only the page itself reads it.
| What is stored | Why |
|---|---|
| Language, theme, sound and animations | To show the site the way you chose. |
| Today’s game and game stats | So you don’t lose your progress or your streak. |
| Daily constellation | To remember which stars you lit today. |
| Tool settings | To open them the way you left them (for example, the tuner’s calibration or the metronome’s tempo). |
| Favorite wallpapers | To keep the seed and settings of up to 12 wallpapers. |
Every key starts with aster.. We never store your images, your audio or personal data there.
Third-party cookies
Cloudflare, which hosts the site, may set a technical cookie when it needs to protect the site from automated traffic (for example, __cf_bm, or cf_clearance if a security check appears). It is strictly necessary for security and isn’t used for advertising.
Google Fonts delivers the typefaces without setting cookies.
How to delete this data
In your browser settings, look for the option to clear site data and choose asternews.com. Your preferences and game stats will be deleted.
If ads arrive
If Aster starts showing ads, this page will explain which cookies they use and how to accept or reject them, before they are turned on.
